While waiting for a third person to respawn with during Saturday's game, Kyle and I began discussion on a BF3 "Conquest" style game. Where the raising of your teams colors would be required to cap a given area. Sean and I then later began discussion on how to build said "flag poles." Flag poles with a pulley system on a sturdy base is one option. We also discussed another flag system that can be discussed further as well....all in all the idea is just like "Conquest". Cap the point, hold it long enough to lower your opponents flag and raise your own. If we had three flag stands at three different points the team who was able to hold 2/3 points longest in a 40 min time limit would be dubbed the winner.

Other ideas....

I'm guessing there should be stop watches at each flag to indicate the amount of time
a team has had possession of the flag?

That sounds fun. Another version could be at the end of 30 minutes, see who has majority of flags up.

Something else we had talked about was, in an effort to replicate the actual "capturing" aspect of the Battlefield series, an option could be to have the flags in locked boxes.

One example we thought of was that each box have two rotary padlocks. Also on each box there are 2 combinations, 1 for each of the locks. However, the combinations could go to either lock, so there's an element of chance that the first combination used is incorrect. Alternatively, there could be 1 lock and 5 combinations, or 1 lock and a ring of keys, etc.

I really liked the multi-key idea. I also think we should implement a variation to our bomb game.
