Mission based game types
I want to start compiling a set of mission based game types that will require the use of communication and tactics to accomplish a set of goals. Games should be fun but allow us to train together to be a more cohesive unit. Games here can also be used to create OPs in the future. Think more milsim...

Ammo drop
Friendly unit is placed somewhere out in the field. At some point given to them by comms ammo is dropped, possibly with a smoke marker. They have a predetermined amount of time before the hunters are set loose. In the ammo dump are mid caps and bbs and speed loaders, all separate. Also in the dump is the coordinates and time for their extraction point. Casualty cards and a designated medic are in use for the hunters and hunted.
Win conditions:
OPFOR: Eliminate enemy squad.
Friendly: Make it to extraction within time limit.
Ammo can be severely limited and more than one ammo dump can be used to create a set of points that must be visited for extraction. Optional is to let friendly unit respawn and count the number of casualties taken to reach goal. Casualty amounts can be related to Win/loss of scenario but allows completion of game. Opfor can be limited in ammo as well.

Re: Mission based game types
Really like the "extraction" game types. The one we played at Afton where a team carried an ammo box to a downed team, regrouped, and then had to make it to extraction was my favorite!

Re: Mission based game types
What about a rendezvous game type? Think of a force needing intel on potential IED's or hostages. A task force has to rendezvous with JSOC, CIA, EOD...etc. and then together they move on the target expecting to face heavy opposition.
After meeting up the two forces can decide on a channel to chat with and swap intel and make a decision towards their objective. Intel can be a simple role play described on an index card and given to each task force prior to game start.
There is great potential in varied game types as the new field has a lot of variation in terrain and cover. I like the idea of mission based games as it encourages teamwork and communication.
