Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
CDWC is in Taylorsville, NC.
Afton and Lanexa? I've never been to either yet, so I don't know what category they'd go in.
Edit: Also, there's TAA in Rockville, MD. Category C given how far away they are.

Don't forget Ballahack in the Chesapeake area. There's also ACQB in Manassas.
Skippers also comes up a lot on VAF. Also, CDWC is actually closer to the 3 hour mark. We typically only think of them as OP based but they do pick-up stuff fairly often I think. When it comes to big pick-up games I think they are a closer option than Ballahack.

Afton and Lynchburg are two hours, tops. Nowhere near 4. Lanexa is 4 hours almost on the dot. Ballahack is 5.

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
skippers as in Mosova skippers?
and I picked those times based on gas usage, would 3 hours be a better cut off mark? I can probably see us going to afton monthly but not skippers or Lanexa

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
yea three hours would be a better mark. that would include all the way up to Winchester. Afton is like 30 minutes from my home and its def an easy drive to do in a single day. The trip to lanexa def takes it out of you and really you almost need to do that one as an overnight friday night trip to not be simply dead to the world for the next day.
Basically they should be in different categories in my mind.

Both CDWC and Cool Combat in NC are in the 2.5 hr mark. I would love to make a once monthly trip down to CDWC if possible, especially once I get my LRB...

- BRASS Games (around Lynchburg, VA; not always hosted by BRASS)
Technically BRASS has been dead for about 3 years or so. I'm now running Centurion Holdings, but I'm still using the old BRASS fields. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Centurion-Holdings-LLC/227123660654993
I know there are several other "fields" in the area but I won't frequent most of them as they are not what I would consider to be in a safe area...
Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
xD sorry, I had a 2 year gig where I went 40 years out of the way. So I missed alot of airsoft news for a long time
So eventually we're going to have to figure out which ones are viable options for regular (and relatively cost effective) trips on a regular basis. Even if we get land again, its nice to socialize on a bigger picture and get our name out there. If you can please post average costs of games at those locations (just edit your post, I generally skim for edits anyways)

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
I'll edit your post for you, but Afton is always FREE unless it's an Op that Tom is running at Afton. Those are rare, generally it's a free pickup game however.
Also, Liberty Canyon is cheaper this year, I think NVA is like, $45.
Edit, here's the LIBC Prices: "Price: NVA: $45, USGI: $75, US SF: $110"

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
Note: Airsoft Field Fee at CDWC is $10. $30-40 only applies to OPs I would assume.

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
The games in Lynchburg, at least as far as Centurion Holdings is concerned are free. The only games I charge for is my Outdoor Campaign in October, and if I hold games at the Red 6 facility in Bedford. I believe the same holds true for OpFor. They only charge for their Spring Campaign.
Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
Just remembered this: Awhile ago we had looked at a field in Glasgow, VA called Big Pearl Paintball. They play airsoft once a month. I guess it's kind of a moot point now since we have a place, but might as well keep this thread going. Seems to be about 1.5 hours from here.

I figure it's still a good list to have, so we know where to look if we want to travel or something

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
Problem with Big Pearl is that they are not as open to airsofters as they appear. While they would allow us to play, we have to adhere to all their rules and some are a little... elementary and not so fitting to a college+ crowd such as ourselves. They do more of a style of paintballed*airsoft. They are still an option... but it would mostly cater toward kids 15 and under from what I have seen in the videos and unless they make a closed event... I probably wouldnt go there, myself.

Re: Intel on Teams/Games/Feilds
to be fair, I did include NCAL lol. Though we will have to have a sit down and discuss all of the options and rule out impossibilities and get everyone's opinions out thereOdenFX wrote:All events/teams/locations will be listed for consideration regardless of reputation, era, restrictions, and player preferences
