Augusta Airsoft - Invitation to play Sat Jan 31, 2015
I am extending an invitation to any current Va Tech student to play Airsoft this Saturday Jan 31, 2015 in Stuarts Draft Virginia. This weekend I hope to have a few current college students take ten minutes to share about the Blacksburg Experience to a group of current High School Sophmores and Juniors and in exchange I offer free entry, a $20 Per person Airsoft GI gift card, and at least two pieces of pizza at the end of the day. We open at 12:30, and the first game is at 1pm. Close quarters combat till 2:15, then Badgerville vs Squirrel Town till 345, then Chaos till 5. We are 1 hour and 45 minutes from Blacksburg, and would love to have a few good men or women tell us something great about Virginia Tech, or at least why its better than UVA. The facebook is Augusta Airsoft LLC, the website is augustaairsoft.com. In the freezing temps we have had 25 to 30 good young men come out each week.
I also apologize for the short notice - I tried using the two email address for the club back in November and again in December but never got a response. Thank you for the chance to offer this in the forum.
Best Regards, Bowman

If a recent graduate is okay, I'm game. Having gone to Roanoke recently, this would be pretty sweet. I'll drive if a few more want to go.

Recent Grads Welcome
I recognize the email misunderstanding was my fault. I kept looking at the Forum as an outsider and was not sure if Non VPI people were allowed until I saw the post on Facebook about 300 likes and future games. So no worries and no problems.
I am reaching out because the AA community is pretty diverse with young players in middle school, more from high school, and then 10 to 15 men that are in the working world. My goal was to just have a few different college players take two to five minutes to share what they like about the School they attend, and why they would recommend it and maybe a minute about the Airsoft Club.
Our field is built for fun, its not really for the super serious but rather for the get out and play type attitude that is based on fair fighting and lots of action. Its a pretty simple layout, and I have found that most find it worth the trip. This time the field fee, and the Airsoft GI Tactical card and a few slices of Pizza are on me. Other Saturdays would be the $20.00 standard field fee. The one thing I would ask is to try and be on time. The briefing is key about safety, boundaries, and rules for medics and respawn. Its also the time we chrono, etc. I know from experience that when we have a good briefing, we give ourselves the best chance at having a great day playing.
I also accept its extremely late notice, and acknowledge its super bowl weekend, but if you are interested please let me know and Ill try and make a big deal about it on the Facebook page even if just one person makes the trip. Sort of a guest of honor type of deal. Thanks again for considering. Have a great day. Bowman

Keith said he's willing to drive when I talked to him earlier. A wild Greg also said he'd come. I would be willing to go as well.
Quick, before Tom and Fox show up!

Players from Mr. Jefferson's University are welcome as well -
The invitation is formally extended to any Student from Mr. Jeffersons University as well. I simply didn't know players would be interested and was not sure how to contact them. Also please accept my apology concerning the UVA comment in the above post.

Thanks -
Great. If you have an idea of how many I will make sure I have the Airsoft GI / Gi Tactical cards ready. $20 is usually enough to cover shipping, or a bottle of bbs, or can be put towards a larger purchase. I appreciate the support the Meerkat has given us and want to make sure people consider Gi Tactical.
As far as the Field, I built it for my three sons so its Family oriented. It helps if we all think that way to start the day which means have a good attitude and focus on the positive. So the field has Squirrel Town and Badgerville. The first three hours are objective based and focus on controlling and moving Fred the mannequin. The first hour is in Squirrel Town and the games are usually 10 minutes or less. No respawn. At 2 we go to Squirrel Town vs. Badgerville and you can respawn at the Town's Hospital (you can even run back) or you can call for a medic and wait for 60 taps. The last hour is Chaos, where players are split into four or five groups and set out to battle each other. Its assimilation, so everyone's a medic and one force usually grows to run down the last two or three players.
In general, attitude is the most important. I stress that players need to be mirrors. So if they want others to play fair then be fair. I also like the idea of a hula hoop, and recognizing that a person is really only in control of the area inside. I feel like I am open minded and so If you have any comments positive or negative just let me know anytime during the day. I am capable of actively listening when given the chance. I feel like its a good fun place to play and as guests its important to me that each person feel appreciated and welcomed. If you need a gun, bbs, batteries, eye pro or a tool just ask and you can have anything I have for the day.
It will help me if everyone signs the waiver online before coming for time purposes. Parking opens at 1230, we do the briefing, set the chrono, and then assign teams and we start at 1. I recommend carrying plenty of bbs so we can keep playing until 2. The last games involve more strategy and the entire field and so they last 45 minutes or more and we break again before chaos.
Once I know how many are in attendance I will order Pizza to be delivered at 5. Ill also have water and napkins. Since its lots of young men Ill try to make it orderly so its not like a pack of wolves and everbody gets enough to make it back to Blacksburg.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Best Regards. Bowman.

I would like to go, might need a ride and have a friend coming too. I think I got enough BBs for both of us so I will only need an extra gun and eye pro.

Alrighty, looks like we have a good diverse group going. It would be nice to have perspectives from all points in a college career. Please remember that the stipulation for the incentive is that you share your experiences.

Make arrangements to be picked up by the person you're car pooling with.
