April 23rd Saturday 10AM
Hey guys,
There is no game this weekend, rather we are sponsoring a litter pickup in Jefferson National Forest as a way for us to say 'thank you' to the forest rangers for allowing us to use Caldwell fields for our games. Please see this Facebook event for more details:
https://www.facebook.com/events/585486224938065/
If you are free this Saturday, I would be very grateful if you were able to come out and lend a hand.
If you are able to go if you could please say that you are 'going' on the Facebook event (there's a button near the upper-right of the page for it.) and to additionally post in this thread.
We will have carpooling available, so if you need a ride please post both here and the Facebook page, I will personally make sure that you will have a ride to the event, I just need you to post on both sites.
More information about the event:
Agenda for the day:
10:30AM - 11:00AM Gates Open
11:00AM - 11:30AM Sign-in and Safety Briefing
11:30AM - 1:45PM Liter Pick-up
1:45PM - 2:00PM Debriefing
Important Information:
We will be providing gloves, bags. and a few shovels for everyone to use. We will also have water available but it is highly encouraged for you to bring some of your own as well.
If you have any questions during the event, find someone with a red tape armband on, they will be able to help you or point you to someone who can.
Please remember to sign-in when you arrive, this is very important for us as well as the Wild Life Service to ensure we have an exact head count.
While it will be warm out during the pickup, we highly recommend wearing pants and boots to help protect from anything you may walk into/through. In addition, there is a lot of red clay in the area we will be cleaning/meeting at so wear clothes you don;t mind getting dirty.
Location Information:
Unfortunately there is no 'exact' address for the rendezvous location for our pickup. The following link will give you directions on how to reach the pickup location from Virginia Tech's campus:

Additionally we will have carpools available in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings near campus. The carpools will leave at 10:00AM, so please arrive a little early to ensure you can get a ride. Please also post that you will be taking a carpool so we can make sure we have enough cars there for everyone.
If you have any other questions/comments/concerns please leave a post.
Lastly, we are in need of extra walkie-talkies for the event if you have any, we ask if you could please bring them, again we would extremely appreciate it!
