Charger Power Source Question Empty Charger Power Source Question

Post  Killem Tue Jul 30, 2013 10:44 pm

I recently ordered this charger for my new lipos and this powersource. However, the powersource had to ship from overseas and might not arrive before a game I want to attend on Sunday. I was looking at power sources on Amazon (That are prime eligible so I get free 2 day shipping). Basically, would this power supply work with this charger? Just double checking.

Edit: Nevermind, it should work. Use it with the 5.0x2.1mm (5mm outer diameter, 2.1mm inner diameter) plug, outputting 12V. Although the listed PSU is 15V, HobbyKing's specs say the charger will work with from 11-17V.

Sadly now the reviews say that the power source I found on amazon is crap. But the 5x2.1 at 12V is the plug that would fit my charger? alternatively, what kind of stores might sell this that I could take the charger in and find the right power source?

An easier thing to do is see what the ratings are for your laptop charger and jerry rig it with some wires (unless it plugs right in). Typically newer laptop chargers have a lower voltage output, while older ones typically have higher. They also are usually capable of high amperage outputs which might matter since your charger is rated for up to 6. Not sure if that matters though.

I'll check my office for some power adapters, we literally have a giant box full of them with varying outputs and what have you, I just wouldn't be able to give it to you until late august (If i can find one that'll work).
