Which day/weekend works best for this op?
Re: Zombie Op
we will be doing this for all players. Expect a poll to be posted soon for best weekend for everyone. Once we get a date, I will post full rules, send out player packets, etc. Keep signing up if interested!Anachro12 wrote:Another good idea I got from Shwell is that when they play zombie games they put a pie plate on chest and back. This is the hit zone for a "head shot" and helps prevent too many close range actual head shots. Zombie for me thanks I only care about surviving the real apocalypse. I have HK USPC with 2 24rd mags

I'm starting to get excited for this.
Provided I can borrow a real-cap, put me down as a survivor.

I'm in for any role.
I have a gas tri shot shotgun with maybe 9 bursts and a gas pistol that holds something like 14 rounds. Manual reload only.

Re: Zombie Op
I could be down for survivor. Have a few handguns with a few mags and a shotgun as well. If security comes in to play, might give me a reason to get real caps for my SR25 to play security and just try to kill everyone to resolve the situation.

Re: Zombie Op
Also, an idea, don't forget that there is a way to play this game at dusk due to low ammo limits and less slinging of 'deadly' plastic. Plus it would add a new element for the survivors vs zombies with the use of flashlights.

Re: Zombie Op
this is an interesting idea, however, I do not want this game running past sundown for multiple reasons (safety, lost items, relitive inexperiance with night games). I think a later start could be interesting; say start around 4ish, go until 7 or 8?Shifter23 wrote:Also, an idea, don't forget that there is a way to play this game at dusk due to low ammo limits and less slinging of 'deadly' plastic. The poll results seem pretty firm for April 7th. Consider that the date unless I post otherwise.
I do see a lot of people not sure where they fall or if we will have enough. So far, I think 10 have committed to coming out for this op. I really want upwards of 15 (the more, the hungrier), but we may just have to divide up what we get depending on final numbers.
Also looks like we will have plenty of acceptable guns for this; Op Admins will be collecting these and your mags prior to the op starting; do not bring something you wouldn't want to loan to someone else.

Re: Zombie Op
though my advice is not technically relevant i would say set the date for the last day you can. Before finals and all that crap, but mostly to give yourself plenty of time to recuit people so you have a good turn out. Dont rush into it just cuz you can it wont be as good as you want it to be if you dont give yourself time to plan and people time to clear schedules and/or get off work or whatever.
just my 2 cents.
Otherwise this sounds AWESOME!

Re: Zombie Op
my only problem with that is that then you run into finals/final projects. I think our current date (with the other available dates I posted) are far enough removed from that as well as being far enough from now that people have time to clear their calenders or whatnot.Dragoncaptin wrote:though my advice is not technically relevant i would say set the date for the last day you can. On a sidenote, I'm probably going to use this as an excuse to pull a few airsoft-curious friends of mine into trying this out. If you have anyone like that in your life, invite them to this; could be a fun experiance and haveing a few newcomers in the survivor crowd; keeps things fresh if you don't know everyone that well. Lets also use this as an excuse to reach out to our members that we don't see as often. Of course some people will be busy, but we've had 20 person games. Make it happen, people.

Re: Zombie Op
Speaking from experience, night ops are a lot of fun, but are entirely dependent on the preparation of the participants. If you ever have a night op, I GUARANTEE you will have multiple people who forget flashlights. Moreover, even with flashlights, it's damn near impossible to see where you are shooting unless you have a high quality flashlight. Engagement distances are difficult to discern, so you'll find yourself shooting at bright lights that are either 5 feet or 500 feet in front of you. If people are walking around without flashlights, expect injuries from the terrain as well as from people shooting each other within minimum engagement distances.
In my opinion, the only viable way to do a large scale night op is with tracer units, and from my understanding, most people in VTAC don't own one.
So, even though Bob has already (wisely) decided against it, I'm giving everyone a few more reasons why night ops can be a pain in the ass.
For anyone who is interested in the complexities of nightgames or the utility of tracers, watch my old group here...

I said dusk. What the fuck with all the night OP talk? lol. Time just changed and now we have reasonable light until 7PM and later. That is what I was indicating.

Re: Zombie Op
No, not angry. Just saying no point for night op. Too many inexperienced players and there would need to be strict requirements that we simply cannot make. Going in to a dusk setting would be pretty interesting though, hence my suggestion. However, BOB is in charge of this thing and makes the decisions. He stepped up and asked admins for permission and therefore got it.
Bob, this thing is up to you and whoever you choose to help. My suggestions are just that, suggestions.

To clarify, we are shifting the game later in the afternoon and into the evening but not going past sundown. Now, let no more be heard about it.
