Signature Etiquette
So I'm not sure where to begin with this, but I feel like it's something that should probably be said.
A lot of us use .gifs in signatures on this forum (Unless you're too lazy to figure out how to do that...), and a lot of the .gifs are pretty funny. But recently there's been some inappropriate or semi-disturbing .gifs used.
Where I really see this being a problem is with new people looking at the forum while trying to find a place to Airsoft at Tech. This is the first they'll see of us, this is what our first impression will be. Let's face it, some of the signatures don't give the best first impression.
When it's awkward to view the forum in a public place (Yes, I know, Adblock, but I'm lazy), how much more awkward is it for prospective Airsofters either already at or coming to Tech and looking for a club? I know you guys, but for anybody new this will be their introduction to the club.
I may be overstepping or completely off base here, but that's my two cents.

You know, Keith raises an excellent point. I'm sure trying to outdo eachother with funny/inappropriate gifs is fun and everything, but this is the face VTAC presented to the internet. I agree that we should be holding ourselves to some basic standards, particularly as we work towards becoming an officially recognized club. This is a legitimate organization and we should be acting like one.

Evan and Keith. Why dont you two start working out details and we can take a vote and see what the club thinks. I can definitely see your points...

I agree with all of the above points. I would also recommend a height limit.

Well, gentlemen, since I am leaving feel free to tell me to stfu, but you're going to either take away all the fun or leave everything. That's the nature of censorship. First you take away questionable .gifs, then profanity, then being Drew Core, etc.....I agree, we should present ourselves professionally and I think there are common sense boundaries we don't cross. But this is the internets and trolls will be trolls. Show me another (cool) club's forum that doesn't contain at least one veiled penis reference somewhere in it.

Its public space... as long as there is no outright nudity/porn involved... it is not our job to censor.
Just because we are a pubic forum won't stop peeps from checking out the "sites"

I'm with zach, as long as there is no blatant nudity its not our place to start censoring stuff. I know there was an option on the old forums to turn off sigs, can we not just get that on here somehow?

Re: Signature Etiquette
I don't even see why it's not our job to censor seeing that this forum is our only public face other than the facebook group, which honestly isn't all that much better at showing who we are. Truthfully, we're not supposed to be some kool kid's klub...we're not VAF or 4Chan. For that matter, we're not NCAO, MAAPR, NCAL, or VNAS. we're supposed to be an organization affiliated with Virginia Tech, and we should probably consider acting as such. This isn't meant to call individuals out, it's a call to grow up and clean up. If you really want to post gifs or images to show how long your e-penis is, then make a new thread and keep the newfaggotry there.
