KWA M16: Body Pin Removal
I'm in the process of taking my KWA M16 apart to put in a new piston. I got the upper receiver removed, the stock/buffer tube off, and all I'm down to is the lower receiver and the gearbox. However, the tiny body pin that holds the gearbox into the receiver is stuck. I cannot for the life of me push it out. Any recommendations? I couldn't find much online other than be careful not to hit it too hard or the body might break.

By the "tiny body pin" do you mean the small (maybe 1/8" diameter) roll pin directly above the trigger? Oftentimes these pins have "ribs" on one side where you if try to knock it out, you're really fighting against those ribs. Get a small punch and tap from both sides with a hammer to see which side feels "looser" and go from there. I've never owned a KWA so no guarantees but every other AEG I've owned (Tokyo Marui, CA, JG, G&P, etc) have all had the same type of pin there.

Yes, the one above the trigger. Here's the problem, I've hit it from both sides and can't tell the difference. Now, one side does stick out from the body while the other side is flat against it but that's the only difference I can find. I've tried spraying silicon so it might loosen, I tried putting the upper receiver back on and the bigger body pins in to relieve any pressure on it, but nothing is working. It doesn't budge or move at all.

As you can see, other people have similar issues removing that pin. If there's a side that is already jutting out, I would say that that is the side where it needs to come free. So flip it over and use a solid hit to the trigger pin to release it. I've honestly never had it be THAT difficult to remove but it could be a KWA thing.

Re: KWA M16: Body Pin Removal
Thanks for the link. Apparently it's just a matter of hitting the thing really hard...
which I don't like. I'll give it another go.
EDIT: I cannot for the life of me get anywhere with this pin. Is it possible that they messed it up when I gave it to Airsoft CQB to repair? They didn't fix it, however, they were the ones that confirmed that the piston was the problem. Could it have been bent? I have hammered at it for 15 minutes and all I've managed to do is scratch the body. It hasn't moved at all. Any suggestions?
EDIT EDIT: Got it. Apparently it does help if you heat up the area around the pin. Took a hair dryer to and BAM came out. Weird.

Makes perfect sense. Heat caused the hole to expand, making it easier to punch the pin out.Killem wrote:EDIT EDIT: Got it. Apparently it does help if you heat up the area around the pin. Took a hair dryer to and BAM came out. Weird.
