Identifing a part

Post  nickrowe on Sun Sep 02, 2012 5:00 pm

I was looking through my bag of parts for my M4 gearbox and I noticed a really wide 'shim' its twice as wide as the regular shims and I cannot recall seeing it when I took the gearbox apart. I have only worked on maybe 2 gearboxes before this one so I was hoping I could get an experienced tech to identify the part. The shim is a similar thickness as the other shims.

Thanks in advance.

Some shims are larger in size to help identify thickness for techs. G&P uses two different outer diameters for different thicknesses in one of their packages of shims.

In short, it's another shim.

Thanks Andrew, I kind of guessed it was another shim but wanted to make sure.
