VTAC: the early days....
Hey y'all, i stumbled upon this forum today, and I figured along with a brief introduction I'd share some pics of VTAC's early days! A few friends and I began VTAC back in 2001 when it was just a small handful of us and some springers duking it out in Jefferson Nat'l Forest. Before long, we had all aquired AEG's (only available directly from Japan at the time) and the club continued to grow. That spring, we were driving to Alabama to play in Operation Southern Comfort II, and were the largest team represented there!... I'm really excited to see how the club has progressed through the years! I certainly miss stalking the woods of Jefferson forest...
My weapons of choice at the time were my ever-faithful tuned Tokyo Marui SR16, and a custom APSII sniper rifle. Both run true to this day ....last fall I built a new KWA (I'll post pics in another thread) to use at my first airsoft game in 6 years, Operation Irene. It stripped a cylinder within the first 10 minutes, but the sr16 'ol faithful' kept me going for the rest of the weekend!
Enjoy!

This is way cool! Glad to hear from someone who was around way back in the beginning! I was always kind of amused that this club could ever get started, especially with the airsoft industry in the state it was even 5 years ago, let alone over 10! When I started it was the same, you either had a TM, a Classic Army, or an ICS. That was it.
And your work table definitely looks like what our little sessions look like too, it's kind of amusing.
May I ask where you're currently located? We travel a bit around the state of VA, sometimes into NC, you'd naturally be welcome to join us.

Technically, I'm in Blacksburg right now, but only for the weekend ... I actually googled VTAC to see if there was a game I might join in on.
I'm in Raleigh nc permanently though
